ICL Phakic Intraocular Lens
The intraocular lens is designed to reside inside the eye and replaces your own natural lens because it has been clouded over by a cataract, or to change the eye’s optical power. IOL’s are often appropriate if you are not suitable for LASIK or ASLA.
Most IOLs are fixed monofocal lenses matched to distance vision. However, other types are available, such as bifocal or multi focal IOLs which provide focused vision at far and reading distance, and adaptive IOLs which provide the patient with limited visual accommodation. We use a range of lens and your surgeon will recommend the best option for your eyes and your lifestyle. IOL options include:
- LENTIS® Mplus
- AcrySof® ReSTOR® IOL
- enVista IOL
- PhysIOL® FineVision IOL
- High Magnification IOL
Insertion of an intraocular lens for the treatment of cataracts is the most commonly performed eye surgical procedure. The procedure can be done under local anaesthesia with the patient awake throughout the operation.
Premium Intraocular Lenses (IOL)
Using premium IOL’s we can also treat presbyopia and astigmatism. As a result, patients are able to see clearly across all focal points and distances, often eliminating the need for glasses altogether. Wind the clock back decades!
